The classic thriller and horror movie. The Silence Of The Lambs.

It was released when I was a little girl, and I saw this movie a couple of times on TV. I just felt threatened by the lead character, Dr. Lecter, so nothing remained in my mind except him.

Time has passed and now in my mid-thirties, I a movie named 'Meet Joe Black'. There was the man, Anthony Hopkins who used to be a horrible killer in my memory. But this time, he was not the man. He was a loving father and confident successful business owner, and a generous man. I couldn't believe my eyes. 

'How could that man be the same person as the Dr. Lecter?'

So, it led me to see the movie, The Silence of The Lambs. I think this movie is a predecessor of profile movies and TV shows these days. 

Plot

Heroin Clarice Sterling (played by Jodie Foster) is an FBI trainee. She is really smart. One day, an FBI behavioral scientist Jack Crawford told Clarice that there was a serial killer outside and in order for them to catch him, they need some help from an inmate, who is the psychiatrist Hannibal Lecter. Jack wants Clarice to interview him or at least watch him thoroughly. She accedes to demands and goes to see the Dr. Lecter.

 

Hannibal is an extraordinarily brilliant psychiatrist and he is attracted to the ham-handed FBI trainee, Clarice. As expected, he doesn't cooperate with the investigation about a serial killer, but he offers a suggestion. Quid pro quo. When Clarice tells about herself, she can get a clue about the murderer from Dr. Lecter. 

In the meantime, another innocent woman falls victim to the serial killer. This time, she was a daughter of a Senate. Therefore, the crime is broadcast on a national scale. Dr. Lecter is transferred to another prison, and there he escaped with ease. Clarice searches her memory to find some clues in the conversation with Dr. Lecter and she finds a significant lead in the conversation with him...

Review Point 1

I think Anthony Hopkins is one of the most brilliant actors of our century. His acting has a power to draw people in the screen and the magnitude of it is insurmountable. I am so overwhelmed by his performance that I feel like I'm in love with him. How talented he is! I saw over and over again the two movies, 'Meet Joe Black', and 'The Silence of The Lambs.' It makes me hard to believe William Parish in Meet Joe Black, and Hannibal Lecter are the same man. 

Review Point 2

Young Jodie Foster was extremely beautiful. She is still so, but the brightness of her eyes are sparkle with her young beautiful face. 

I think this movie is a masterpiece of our time. It is lucky for me to see this movie in contemporary with the actors being with me.
